Locally, Dr. DJ continues to make a difference through service on several boards in Douglas County, Georgia, including the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce, Wellstar Regional Health Board, Vice Chair for the Hospital Authority Board of Douglas County, the Georgia Association for Women in Higher Education, Partners in Education of Douglas County, and the Douglas County Education Foundation. She is a founding member of the National Council of Negro Women Northwest Georgia Section, is the Secretary of Beyond the Front Porch, a nonprofit expanding educational access and field trips for youth, and is on the Nominating Committee for the Junior League of Douglas County.
