Meet Dr. DJ
Dr. Deborah “Dr. DJ” Johnson-Blake is the CEO of The Writing Pad, LLC, a writing, editing, and consulting firm focusing on proofreading, editing, and customized writing. She is an award-winning assistant professor at Liberty University, a subject matter expert with expertise in servant leadership and management, and a dissertation chair. Dr. DJ is a dissertation chair at Concordia University Texas. She is a corporate trainer and speaker, helping participants improve relations and achieving personal and professional goals in the workplace and beyond.
She also serves on several boards and committees. Dr. Johnson-Blake is the Immediate Past 2019-2020 President and member of the ABWA (American Business Women’s Association) Douglas County Charter Chapter, a board member of Beyond the Front Porch and Douglas County Partners in Education, and a member of the Junior League of Douglas County and its Nominating Committee. Her other memberships include the Women Employment Opportunity Project and the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce. Dr. DJ serves as a Douglas County Chamber of Commerce Diplomat and is the Lead Coach for Woman University, a subsidiary of Marvelous Light Empowerment Association.
Dr. Johnson-Blake is the 2021 American Business Woman of ABWA, a 2021 Top Ten Business Woman of ABWA. She is the first honoree of the Collaborator Award (2020) sponsored by the Business Women Empowerment Project/Women on the MOVE. She is a member of the Georgia Association for Women in Higher Education (GAWHE) and the 2020 recipient of the Louise McBee Scholarship, which is underwritten by GAWHE. Dr. DJ is the 2019 Chamber Spirit Award recipient and the 2019 Woman of the Year for the American Business Women’s Association Douglas County Charter Chapter. Dr. Johnson-Blake was recognized as an Entrepreneur in the 2018 Edition of Who’s Who in Black Atlanta and is a graduate of the Leadership Douglas Class of 2017-2018 and Leadership Clayton Class of 2011-2012.
When she is not working with her students, clients, and giving back to her community, she is busy speaking and promoting her books and conducting training. Dr. DJ is a Certified Time Management and Life Coach and author of Managing Time on Purpose, a practical guide based on theory and best practices that can be used to help people become more time management efficient. Also, she is a co-author of Women Level Up and Lead, and K.I.S.S. Destiny Fears Goodbye. Her most recent book is 52 Time Management H.A.C.K.S.: Hacking Actions to Conquer and Kick Time Setbacks. She has been a contributing writer for the South Fulton Lifestyle Magazine, South Atlanta Magazine (formerly We are Clayton), and the Douglas County Sentinel. She has been featured in VoyageATL, and Em-Spire magazines and Atlanta Eats - The Juicy Crab (Kennesaw) episode. Dr. Johnson-Blake earned a Doctor of Management in Organizational Leader from the University of Phoenix, a Master of Public Administration from Troy State University, and a Bachelor of Political Science from Old Dominion University.
